Quiet Strength. Montana Made.

By Lindsay, Founder & Maker

Built by Hand. Built to Last.

I'm Lindsay — maker, mama, and the hands behind every piece at Resilient Hide Co.

I grew up in western Montana beneath big skies and endless mountains, where long days meant hunting, fishing, camping, and learning early that the best things in life are built to last. Those years outdoors shaped everything — my appreciation for honest work, well-made things, and the quiet beauty found in the natural world.

Years on the fireline

Years on the Fireline.

Wildland fire was woven into my life long before it became my career. I watched my father and brother serve with the Forest Service, and years later I found myself drawn down that same path — spending more than two decades supporting wildland fire operations across the landscapes I love.

That work demanded focus, perseverance, and a deep respect for both the land and the people beside you. The grit and quiet resilience of the men and women I worked alongside left a lasting mark on me. It still shows up in everything I make.

Family on the river

A Return to What Matters.

After more than two decades in public service, I chose to step away — to be more present with my children, and to pursue something I had quietly dreamed of for years. Making leather goods by hand.

I wanted to show my kids, through example, what it looks like to build something with patience and intention. To create things worthy of being passed down. That choice is woven into every stitch of every piece that leaves my hands.

Montana wildlife

Made in Montana. Named for the Wild.

Every Resilient Hide design is named after the wildlife and landscapes of Montana — Mountain goats, Pronghorn, Grizzlies, Herons. These aren't just names. They're a quiet nod to the resilience and understated beauty that inspire this work.

Each piece is handcrafted using premium Horween leather and solid hardware chosen for durability and character. Over time, the leather develops a rich patina — a reflection of the life lived alongside it.

The craft

Small Batch. On Purpose.

Resilient Hide releases in limited runs so that every piece can be made with the care and intention it deserves. These aren't mass-produced goods. They're made one at a time, by one pair of hands, in a home studio in western Montana.

That's not a limitation — it's the point.

Why Horween Leather?

Since 1905, the Horween Leather Company in Chicago has been tanning some of the finest leather in the world — slowly, by hand, in small batches. It's the same tannery that supplies leather for NFL footballs and some of the most respected makers in America. It ages beautifully, grows richer with use, and tells the story of every mile it travels alongside you.
